 TreKnot has been instrumental and integral part of our Clients success to create, develop, meet/exceed and report on Compliance Goals and Small Business contracting efforts for several multi-million dollar projects and programs. Our process to provide insight and benefits of the inclusion of Small Businesses, whether MBE, DBE, WBE, VOB has proven to be a success on numerous accounts.

TreKnot assisted with the development of DDOT's DBE Program.  We developed the process, created the forms and implemented the program on all federally funded projects.

We have adopted the Commercially Useful Function (CUF) processes on all programs, whether funded by the federal of local governments. Effective management of Small Business compliance efforts is a must to ensure that Small Business maintain a level-playing field. 

 TreKnot has the knowledge and extensive experience to assist Clients to organize, administer, manage and monitor the Davis Bacon requirements as required by federally and locally funded projects.  Certified Payroll reviews to Labor Standard Interviews, TreKnot takes pride in developing the metrics to confirm compliance with the Labor standards.

Our Labor Compliance team supports and provides services to our Clients as they relate to Training Special Provisions (On-the-Job Training (OJT)) that ensures minorities and women have the opportunities to compete for and participate on construction projects to develop as journey-level workers.  OJT Training Program development, recruitment, reporting and analytical services are offered to Clients that satisfy the federal labor requirements. 

 TreKnot has the knowledge and experience to develop, manage, monitor and reporting of:

• Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Special Experimental Project No. 14 (SEP-14) program, a one-year pilot program that will allow state and local transportation agencies to utilize local hiring preferences on federal-aid highway and transit projects.
  
• District of Columbia Department of Employment Services First Source Employment Program that ensures that city residents are given priority for new jobs created by municipal financing and development programs.
  
• Prince George's County Maryland established First Source Hiring Program, requiring “best efforts” for meeting a certain local hiring percentage goal for positions on certain procurement projects funded by the County.

 TreKnot develops workshops and seminars that may increase capability and knowledge of small business owners that ultimately effect a productive relationship with contractors. Providing the supportive services assistance will increase the opportunities and contribute to the growth and eventual self-sufficiency of minority business enterprises.  Results that will allow small business owners to compete for and perform contracts and subcontracts.

TreKnot developed a Good Faith Effort communication program which consists of an open-ended communications matrix that allows small business owners to meet and present capabilities to Program Managers.  Defining capabilities and communicating experience and qualifications in one-on-one settings proved to be a huge success in Clients meeting/exceeding project goals.

For small business that are not certified, TKO can assist with the completion of most certifying agency applications.

 The primary objectives of Labor Supportive Services unit are to assist to increase the overall effectiveness of an approved OJT program in connection with Federal-aid highway construction projects, and to suggest ways to increase the training opportunities for women, minorities, and disadvantaged individuals.  TreKnot methods used to increase the participation of women, minorities, and disadvantaged individuals in skilled and semi-skilled crafts has been to provide construction related credentials thus creating a marketable workforce.
 

 TreKnot provides training, education, or workforce development.  Training and development activities associated with career awareness, career preparation, training and professional development, including activities for young adults, women, minorities, and disadvantaged individuals.

We also provide types of services to include: recruitment, skills training, job placement, outreach, follow-up and job site mentoring if required.  We have been instrumental in developing programs that assisted with transportation to work-sites.

• Basic Construction Trainings

 The public has become aware of the influence and impact they have on projects within their communities therefore an effective Public Involvement Plan is not a luxury, but a necessity!

TreKnot will work with the project/program to create an effective Public Involvement Plan. We will maintain effective and proactive communications of efforts at every stage of the project/program and/or as necessary. We also have the experience to manage the public/community involvement when community involvement was not effectively implemented. 

 TreKnot review scopes and perform work inspections on site for construction-related projects, confirming compliance with contracted scopes.  This effort provides the subcontractors the confidence to complete all tasks required to finalize contracted scope.

It's very important to manage traffic at worksites to avoid potential safety hazards and traffic impediments.   TreKnot has the experience to monitor and manage the workflow of traffic during construction.
